2. Gus Edwards:

In some games, you just need to be able to take a wrecking ball to the middle of the defense. While I could have easily gone with J.K. Dobbins here, give me Gus Edwards to put on a show. There could be snow, the winds will be high, and the Ravens need to make this a smashmouth game. While Dobbins doesn’t go down easily, Edwards is the most powerful runner the Ravens have.

Good games should be in store for both of the main running backs because of how crucial running the ball is. Edwards is due for a big game. He averaged 4.8 yards per attempt against the Titans and only ended up with 38 yards. Edwards had 85 yards against the New York Giants though he hasn’t reached the 100-yard marker since the Ravens took on the Cowboys. He’s due.

Edwards is good for 10-15 carries a game. A typical day at the office is him getting 12 carries and averaging five yards per attempt (perfectly reasonable forThat’sThaat’s 60 yards. So on a reasonable expectation, he has solid production. Let’s say he breaks one of his runs for a big gain. Let’s say he has a 50 yard run for a touchdown. If you put that on top of his usual good game, he’s at 110 yards right there.

It doesn’t take much courage in your convictions to say that J.K. Dobbins will be an offensive standout for Baltimore. He’s become the number one running back, he’s feeling it and he’s the one with all the star power. People are excited about Dobbins for a reason. Breaking out a bold prediction for number 35, now that’s the kind of energy Baltimore needs going into this game. Edwards will be a big playmaker and the Ravens will get a boost from it.
