Key To The Future: 2021 Baltimore Ravens Offensive Wish List 1.0
We watched, we prayed, we lost. Now, we push forward and look to what the 2021 Baltimore Ravens offense might look like.
Well, that escalated…..to no extent whatsoever, and by “that”, I mean the Ravens offense Saturday night against Buffalo. My new friends and fine colleagues at The Ebony Bird have done an awesome job of providing numerous different post-mortems of that game so far (which I certainly urge you to check out), so I won’t beat a dead horse, but a lot of what happened in Orchard Park will tie into today’s topic at hand: the 2021 offensive wish list.
This will certainly be a 1.0 version of numerous different instillations as the off-season progresses, but the long and arduous process of building the Ravens into 2021 Super Bowl contenders starts now, here’s an ideal look at what that might look like.
Quarterbacks: Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley, Trace McSorley
We can cut the “Lamar and picks for Deshaun” discussion off before it even begins to pick up steam. Jackson was the unanimous league MVP just one short year ago and save for last week when the entire offense was having trouble clicking, returned to that form over the final two months of the season.
Huntley looked decent at times in his limited opportunities this season, at least decent enough to warrant a competition between him and Trace for the QB2 spot. McSorley almost led the Covid-Ravens back from the depths against Pittsburgh, and given how quickly he’s become a fan favorite in Baltimore (on top of the week-to-week uncertainty of these times), I’d love to see the Ravens rock with 3 QB’s on opening day.
