2. Rashard Higgins

Rashard Higgins is one of the most underrated free agents in the 2021 market. According to Pro Football Focus, Higgins was targeted 49 times and he brought in 37 receptions. Not a bad success rate at the wide receiver position huh? Higgins scored a 77.4 overall score from PFF in the 2020 season, which is a solid score.

This would be a very Ravens-like move. They would take the one receiving target from Cleveland that gets talked about the least. In an offseason where fans have been talking about names like Allen Robinson, Chris Godwin, Kenny Golladay, and even Corey Davis, signing Higgins would feel a lot like thrift shopping. If signing a star receiver isn’t in the cards, the Ravens may look to a signing like this, getting a 26-year-old receiver with plenty of potential.

Higgins has a nice combination of positive traits that got him 16.9 yards per reception last year. If the focus of the Baltimore offense is to become more dynamic down the field, Higgins would help with that.

The speed of Marquise Brown, Higgins, and Devin Duvernay at the wide receiver positions, would be a potent combination. Higgins would also give Lamar Jackson another big target in the passing game, While most of the Baltimore pass catchers are under six feet tall, Higgins is 6-1.

So far, Higgins best season consists of 37 receptions 599 yards, and four touchdowns. This is another example of targeting a number two receiver in free agency. It’s not exactly the offseason dream. Instead, it’s a viable option for Baltimore in an offseason where Eric DeCosta has to make every dollar of cap space count.

Should Baltimore sign Higgins there will be a lot of fans who are underwhelmed. By the end of the 2021 season, many of those underwhelmed fans would be calling it one of the sneaky good moves of the offseason.
