Devante Parker anyone?

The Miami Dolphins went from a joke of a team to almost making the playoffs last season. The Dolphins could indeed wait on someone like Austin Jackson to grow, or they could bring in better protection for their quarterback Tua Tagovailoa now.

It is possible that the Dolphins draft Penei Sewell, but why not just draft one of the top receiving prospects (as most mock drafts have them doing) and trade for a player you already know is capable of being your franchise left tackle immediately.

Over the Cap has the Dolphins projected cap to be around $12 million right now. That doesn’t include the cost of any rookies that the Dolphins bring in either. The Dolphins have eight draft picks, however, four of them are in the first two rounds.

The Dolphins could trade DeVante Parker to the Baltimore Ravens for Orlando Brown Jr. He has a cap number of $12 million in 2021. He is signed through 2023. However, Tua and Parker don’t have the same connection as Parker and Ryan Fitzpatrick had. The Dolphins may look to find Tua’s number one wide receiver in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The only thing is if the Dolphins trade Parker before June first, they end up with $8.1 million in dead money and only save about $4 million. If they wait until after June first, their dead money goes down to $2.7 million and they save $9.4 million in 2021. Would the Ravens be willing to take draft picks for next season instead of this season and do the trade after June first?

Or is there a way to send us a second-round draft pick now and swap Parker for Orlando Brown Jr. after June first? I mean that sounds like a fair trade to me. DeVante Parker and a second-round pick for a young franchise left tackle that wants a new team.
