Last Call:

@GreatnessCalls asks several questions.

1. Do you believe we will win a Super Bowl with the pieces we currently have around Lamar Jackson once they mature or will it take a drastic roster change?

Answer: I don’t believe the Ravens are far off from where they need to be. They’re close. The Ravens have been a playoff team for three consecutive seasons and the nucleus will be back. Eventually, the Ravens will break through and win it all. Jackson gives them a chance every year.

Jackson with J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards is a nice combination. Jackson with Mark Andrews and Marquise Brown will be strengthened by the addition of Sammy Watkins. If the Ravens get enough pass rush added through the draft or free agency, Baltimore can win a Super Bowl.

2. Who is you’re James Proche (the guy Eric DeCosta trades up for in the 6th or 7th) of this draft?

Answer:  You know what sounds fun? Answering this with another SMU guy. Give me Kylen Granson the tight end out of SMU. He’s a bit of an undersized tight end who’s tough but is more of a flexed-out weapon. He reminds me of Owen Daniels a bit when I watch him. Do I see a huge ceiling? No. Do I see why he could fall? Yes. I’m just intrigued and we’re talking sixth round, that’s enough.

3. Let’s get crazy. Would you trade Andrews & OBJ to ATL for the fourth pick & draft Kyle Pitts?? No contract extensions needed and a cheap rookie playmaker.

Answer: Okay, that’s not happening. It would be tempting as all get out, but it isn’t happening. Your logic is sound. Extending the contract of Mark Andrews isn’t exactly a given. If the Ravens could keep the 27th selection it would be tempting. I think you get more out of Andrews than Pitts in his rookie year, especially as a blocker.

Next. Ravens to visit with Alejandro Villanueva: 3 questions. dark

Pitts is number three on my board though. I doubt the trade would be that simple though. Trading up from 27 to 4 is a massive jump. I admittedly have to toss this one around some more which makes this a really strong question. Good one. That’s too crazy to happen and I love Andrews with the Purple and Black. I’m going to say know because it doesn’t change the situation the Ravens are in for 2021 enough. It’s a hesitant no though.
