The Baltimore Ravens experienced quite a bit of roster turnover this offseason. While the main core will return in 2021, a few notable players were sent packing for one reason or another.
Gone is Orlando Brown Jr. Matthew Judon and Yannick Ngakoue both signed with new teams. And in their places, new faces will be asked to step up and play key roles this season.
We’re talking offensive linemen like Kevin Zeitler and Alejandro Villanueva as well as rookies such as Rashod Bateman and Odafe Oweh.
Yes, the Ravens of 2021 will look similar to the Ravens of 2020. But as with every offseason, there were a few notable moves made to shake up the roster.
As we near the middle of June, one might think that the team’s work is done and that it’s full speed ahead to training camp and the preseason.
But not so fast. There are still adjustments that could be made.
The Ravens don’t possess a ton of cap flexibility which limits the way they could make additions. However, rumors still persist that the team could look to make a veteran free-agent signing — perhaps along the lines of someone like Justin Houston.
It’s important to remember that free agency isn’t the only way to change things up, though. The Ravens are no strangers to midseason trades with the likes of Marcus Peters and Yannick Ngakoue being two recent notable examples.
