2. Baltimore Ravens vs. Kansas City Chiefs – Week 2

Since Lamar Jackson has taken over as the Baltimore Ravens quarterback, every year Ravens fans circle the Kansas City game on their calendars, hoping to finally knock off the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs.

And each year, the Chiefs emerge victorious.

The AFC champion in both the 2019 and 2020 season, Kansas City is a powerhouse with an unrivaled set of dynamic playmakers at the offensive skill positions.

The excitement generated by Mahomes throwing dimes to Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce is unrivaled in the NFL — unless, perhaps, you consider the plays Lamar Jackson makes with his legs.

Though Jackson has a 30-7 regular-season record overall, nearly half of his losses — 3-of-the-7 — have come at the hands of the Chiefs. His completion percentage against coach Andy Reid’s squad is a dismal 52.6 percent.

Per Jackson, the Chiefs are the Ravens’ kryptonite.

He’s right, and he’ll set out to reverse that trend in Week 2 of the 2021 season.

Only this time, the Ravens hope that the dynamic playmakers with which Ravens’ general manager Eric DeCosta has gifted Lamar this offseason — Sammy Watkins, Rashod Bateman, and Tylan Wallace — will allow Lamar Jackson’s legs and arm to make the jaw-dropping plays that’ll be needed to take down the Chiefs.
