Ravens: 4 players who could make their first Pro Bowl in 2021
By Justin Fried
1. J.K. Dobbins, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Perhaps no Ravens player has received more hype this spring than running back J.K. Dobbins. And if all goes according to plan, Dobbins could be primed for a monster season in 2021.
The former Ohio State star burst into the scene as a rookie rushing for 805 yards and a team-rookie-record nine touchdowns on an NFL-best 6.0 yards per carry.
Dobbins is only expected to take on a greater share of backfield touches this season. And if he could keep the same level of efficiency that he had last year, the sky is the limit for him in 2021.
The Ravens aren’t just expecting him to contribute on the ground, however. One of the team’s stated goals has been to get Dobbins more involved in the passing game this season.
That, combined with his likely uptick in carries, should allow him to accumulate plenty of scrimmage yards in 2021.
The only thing working against him is a stacked collection of running backs currently inhabiting the AFC. The likes of Derrick Henry, Nick Chubb, and Josh Jacobs made the Pro Bowl roster in 2020.
Will Dobbins be able to put up big enough numbers to usurp any of them? He’ll certainly be given the opportunity to do so.
If you’re betting on any Ravens player to be a first-time Pro Bowler this season, your money should be on J.K. Dobbins.
