2. Ravens free agent target: Todd Gurley (RB)

Speaking of hometown heroes, another Baltimore native who could be on the Ravens’ radar is running back Todd Gurley. In fact, he is on the Ravens’ radar.

Gurley visited with the Ravens around a month ago sparking rumors that the team could look to sign him. Since then, all has been quiet on the Gurley front — but that doesn’t mean they won’t revisit a deal before training camp.

The 10th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Gurley was once considered the best running back in the entire NFL being named first-team All-Pro in consecutive seasons from 2017 to 2018.

Gurley rushed for 2,556 yards and 30 touchdowns in those two years alone, but just one year later, he was gone from Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old spent last season with the Atlanta Falcons where he served as their primary back. However, he struggled to make much of an impact totaling just 678 yards on a poor 3.5 yards per carry.

His best days are clearly behind him, but perhaps he could still play a role with the Ravens.

J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards are expected to share the majority of backfield touches this season with 2019 fourth-round pick Justice Hill serving as their primary backup.

If Gurley were to be signed, he’d likely leapfrog Hill on the depth chart and be used as a situational goal-line back.

It wouldn’t be the most exciting signing, but Gurley’s ties to Baltimore on top of the fact that he already visited with the team make this one of the more likely additions.
