2. Trace McSorley, QB, Ravens

Trace McSorley has been a part of the Ravens roster since he was drafted in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. But his roster spot might be in jeopardy this summer.

McSorley is expected to be featured in one of the fiercest training camp position battles alongside fellow backup quarterback Tyler Huntley.

Both players were used sparingly last season with Huntley only seeing playing time following McSorley’s injury.

It’s still early, but the initial reports out of spring practices seem to suggest that Huntley might have the slight edge in the backup quarterback competition.

An undrafted free agent in last year’s draft, Huntley spent most of the year on the practice squad but received snaps very late in the year, and in the postseason, following injuries to Lamar Jackson and McSorley.

Both McSorley and Huntley are ideal backups for Jackson from a schematic standpoint meaning that whichever player performs better in camp will likely win the job.

That said, it’s no guarantee that the loser is cut either.

The Ravens have carried three quarterbacks in recent years, meaning they could opt to keep both players on the active roster. Even if they don’t, it’s likely that the other would be stashed on the practice squad, provided he wasn’t scooped up by another team.

Nonetheless, McSorley’s spot on the active roster isn’t a given this summer so he belongs on this list.
