The Baltimore Ravens are set to take on the Carolina Panthers this Saturday as they prepare for their second preseason game of the summer.

With just three preseason games to play this year, it remains to be seen how much head coach John Harbaugh will play his starters.

At the same time, many of those starters will be held out of this week’s game for reasons related more to injuries than anything else.

Baltimore has avoided any major injuries that will keep players sidelined for a significant portion of the regular season, but they haven’t been so lucky with minor ailments.

As many as 16 or more players have missed practice in recent days with minor injuries. And although those injuries won’t force most of them to miss regular-season action, it does have an effect on team chemistry.

Nevertheless, the show must go on. A number of players on the Ravens roster remain entrenched in position battles either for starting jobs or for roster spots.

And those battles will take center stage once again this Saturday.

With just two more preseason games and less than two weeks to go until final roster cuts, this week’s matchup will be integral for players looking to solidify their roles on the team.

Let’s take a look at three of the top position battles to watch in this Saturday’s preseason game.
