6. Jake Verity, K, Ravens
Jake Verity’s perfect preseason continued on Saturday as the undrafted rookie connected on a field goal from 44 yards out and nailed both of his extra-point attempts.
Verity is now 3-for-3 on field goals in the preseason with all three kicks coming from 40 yards out or longer. He doesn’t have a shot at cracking the Ravens’ roster for obvious reasons, but his audition for the other 31 NFL teams continues.
It remains to be seen if the Ravens could actually get anything for him in a trade. His fate might just be sealed already as a late-August roster cut.
But Verity continued to improve his stock, whether it’s with the Ravens in his future or not.
5. Chuck Clark, S, Ravens
The second and third-stringers got the chance to shine for much of Saturday’s game. But before the backups came in, the Ravens’ safeties dominated.
Chuck Clark registered three tackles in limited playing time and forced a fumble on a massive hit to rookie running back Chuba Hubbard.
Carolina recovered, but the loss of yardage helped contribute to a missed field goal from kicker Joey Slye.
The Ravens’ safety duo made sure to make their presence felt on Saturday. More on Clark’s position-mate in a little bit.
