The Baltimore Ravens have a pretty good track record when it comes to getting the most out of undrafted kickers, and trading Jake Verity may be the finishing touch to their offseason.

With Justin Tucker as the Ravens’ clear No. 1 kicker, Verity is simply too good not to play and could easily take his talents elsewhere. Tucker said himself that he’d be “shocked” if Verity doesn’t make another team’s 53-man roster to start the season.

Given Baltimore’s uncanny ability to groom their specialists into bonafide talent, they could likely get a draft pick in return for the East Carolina University product.

At least that’s what recent history tells them.

Two years ago, the Ravens fleeced the Minnesota Vikings for a 2020 fifth-round pick in exchange for undrafted free agent Kaare Vedvik. Vedvik turned out to be a dud, and the Ravens won that trade by a landslide.

The list of successful kickers traded out of Baltimore continues with Will Lutz, the Saints’ (but injured) kicker, Graham Gano, and Steven Hauschka.

Baltimore should be very thankful they have Tucker, who is arguably the best kicker in NFL history. They should also be thankful they have Verity, who could win them some sweet draft capital before the start of the season.

Here are three teams in desperate need of a kicker that could trade for Jake Verity.
