The Baltimore Ravens have had a rough couple of weeks. Injuries have decimated their roster and the team will be limping their way into Week 1.

But the past is the past. What’s done is done. On Monday night, the Ravens will take the field at Allegiant Stadium and officially kick off their 2021 season.

The Ravens will take on a Las Vegas Raiders team that can never seem to get out of their own way. This isn’t to say that there’s not plenty of talent on their roster because there most certainly is.

But the Raiders provide the Ravens with a golden opportunity to put their preseason demons behind them with a successful Week 1.

The Raiders are a good matchup for the Ravens in many ways, some of which we’ll touch on in a moment. And a good matchup is exactly what the Ravens need right now.

They need a spark of momentum. A big Week 1 to take their minds off what has been a difficult close to the summer. They need a convincing win in the worst possible way.

There are always surprises every week of the NFL season, and that’s especially true when it comes to Week 1. It’s always difficult to properly gauge how teams will perform when they take the field for the first time in nearly a year.

But we try to be optimists here. Let’s look at the bright side of things.

Here are a few bold — but optimistic — predictions for the Ravens in Week 1.
