A-a-a-nd that’s a wrap for NFL Week 1. Wait, the Baltimore Ravens still have their game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night.

*Rubs hands in gleeful anticipation of more football*

The Ravens face Las Vegas tonight in their first game of the season, which will also serve as the first test for Ravens’ rookies and fringe starters alike.

Pick a position group, any position group, and there will likely be a player who has a chip on his shoulder or needs to impress in a big way this game.

Odafe Oweh and Daelin Hayes, for two, know their names will be called on to help the Ravens’ pass-rushing unit, while the much more seasoned Sammy Watkins will need to put his injuries behind him and make an impact on offense.

Of course, some players will naturally have less to prove than others. Lamar Jackson, for instance, has much less to lose than, say, Hayes, in the season opener simply because his reputation precedes him.

Those lucky enough to be considered the Ravens franchise’s darlings may not have to leave it all on the field. But the rest of them do.

As Baltimore tries to recover from all the injury setbacks, starter hopefuls now get a golden opportunity to prove their worth to the team.

Players new and old will step into the fray like a gladiator stepping into an arena, and not all will come out unscathed. The roaring crowd in Allegiant Stadium will be the Ravens’ worst critics — can these four players drown out the noise?
