Baltimore Ravens vs. Kansas City Chiefs best bets for Week 2
By Justin Fried
The Baltimore Ravens will be out for revenge as they travel back home to take on the powerhouse Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2.
Following a disappointing loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football, the Ravens will be looking to avoid falling to the dreaded 0-2. That will be no easy task, however.
A beaten and battered Ravens team will be taking on a healthy, dominant Chiefs team. In a matchup that looks lopsided on paper, the Ravens will hope to prove their doubters wrong and score the major upset victory in Week 2.
The line for this game, currently set at 3.5, doesn’t look that bad. But in reality, even with the game being in Baltimore, the Chiefs should probably be favored by even more.
But aside from the spread, what other bets could be worth the gamble? With the help of WynnBet, we take a look at some of the best player props you could make this week.
Best Baltimore Ravens bets Week 2
- Lamar Jackson O/U Passing Touchdowns (1.5)
- Best bet: OVER
Lamar Jackson did the best he could with a struggling offensive line in Week 1. He still finished 19-of-30 for 235 yards and a touchdown in the air while adding another 86 yards on the ground.
The bet we’re focusing on this week is the over/under for his passing touchdowns which is currently set at 1.5. The smart play here is the over.
Jackson tossed two or more touchdowns in nine of 15 games last season. What did most of those games have in common? Jackson was forced to throw the ball more and rely less on his ground game.
That’s exactly what will be the case this week, and possibly most of this year.
Not only do the Ravens have an injury-riddled running back room, but their offensive line struggled to open up holes in Week 1. Combine that with the loss of Tyre Phillips and the expected absence of Ronnie Stanley and you have a recipe for disaster.
Plus, the Ravens might find themselves trailing early in this game against an explosive Chiefs offense. Expect Jackson to air it out plenty and throw for a pair of touchdowns.
- Ty’Son Williams O/U Rushing Yards (44.5)
- Best bet: UNDER
Ty’Son Williams had an impressive debut last Monday rushing for 65 yards on nine carries including a 35-yard touchdown. However, the Ravens surprisingly opted to eliminate him from their game plan in the second half.
That’s certainly a troubling development going forward. And until it’s clear that he’ll be the lead back in the Ravens backfield, it’s probably best to keep betting the under with his player props.
Now, 44.5 is a low bar to clear. But consider the fact that, aside from his one long run on Monday, Williams averaged just 3.33 yards per carry on eight attempts (eight carries for 30 yards).
Once again, this Ravens offensive line is beaten up and Baltimore could be trailing early in this game. If the Ravens are going to have success on the ground, it might just have to come from Jackson’s legs.
Don’t expect a big day from Ty’Son Williams in this one.
