1. Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens
The Ravens are Lamar Jackson. We already knew this, but Sunday night’s game was further evidence of that.
Jackson got off to an inauspicious start throwing two first-quarter interceptions including one that was returned for a touchdown. But he quickly settled in after that.
And by the time the fourth quarter came around, he was in a zone.
Jackson finished 18-of-26 for 239 yards and a touchdown in the air while adding 107 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.
He became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 200+ yards, rush for 100+ yards, and rush for two touchdowns in a regular-season game. He tied Mike Vick for the most 100-yard rushing games by a QB in NFL history (at age 24).
Lamar Jackson is incredible, and it’s hard to pick just one of his many highlights from Sunday’s game.
Was it his otherworldly leaping touchdown pass to Marquise Brown? How about his game-winning flip into the end zone? His nasty stiff-arm on Daniel Sorensen? Or maybe it was his video-game-like jukes?
We’re going with none of the above.
Instead, it was his game-sealing run up the gut on 4th-and-1 to clinch a Ravens victory. That play demonstrated just how much Jackson means to this organization.
Lamar Jackson is the Baltimore Ravens. And on Sunday night, he led his team to victory in the unlikeliest of circumstances.
