Ravens: Marquise Brown still plagued by his inconsistencies
By Rémy Cabache
Marquise Brown has had drop issues before
Frustratingly, this isn’t the first time Brown has had a serious issue with drops in one game.
In last season’s chaotic win over the Cleveland Browns, Brown is remembered as being one of the heroes of the game for his late-game 44-yard touchdown catch.
However, until that moment, he was very much a villain in the story of that game.
Like this week just gone, Brown dropped three passes. They weren’t as clearly consequential as Week 3’s against Detroit, but they were poor drops nonetheless.
The first two came on back-to-back plays, both of which would have gained about eight yards and paved the way for first down conversions.
The third came on a 3rd-and-6, right at the first down marker. The Ravens punted and the Browns went up 35-34 on the ensuing drive.
He was contested on the first, but all three should have been simple enough catches, nonetheless.
Fortunately for Brown, he took advantage of the next opportunity he got, converting a fourth-down attempt into his 44-yard touchdown.
