3. Sammy Watkins, WR, Ravens: 36.5 receiving yards (o/u)

Sammy Watkins has quietly gotten off to a productive start in Baltimore. He’s averaging nearly 70 yards per game and is on pace for just shy of 1,200 receiving yards.

Needless to say, it’s unlikely he keeps up that pace. But Watkins has been a reliable target for Lamar Jackson in the passing game with four catches in each game so far.

That’s what makes his extremely low projection this week so surprising.

Yes, he will be going up against a dominant Broncos secondary that should curb his numbers. But a 36.5 projection is very low. He’s topped that in all three games to this point and it’s a safe bet to assume he hits the over.

What makes this an even better bet is that we’re talking about Sammy Watkins here. He’s a player who can reach the 37-yard mark on one play.

Watkins is a big-play threat every time he’s on the field and he proved that he’s still got it with a 49-yard catch in Week 1. If he does that even once this week, he immediately hits the over.

The oddsmakers are showing a little too much respect to Denver’s defense and not enough respect to Baltimore’s playmakers.

Bet the over on Watkins this week.
