The Ravens found out early Sunday morning that Lamar Jackson’s illness had gotten worse. Therefore, about an hour before kickoff, it was announced that Jackson would be inactive against the Bears.

It was very surprising news because after Friday’s press conference, all indications showed that Jackson would play.

However, with Jackson inactive, all eyes were on his backup Tyler Huntley. Jackson surely believed in him and Huntley got the job done.

He completed 26-of-36 passes for 219 yards. He also added 40 yards on the ground. Huntley did throw an interception in the red zone, however, other than that, it was a great performance.

For the most part, he took care of the football and made good decisions throughout the game. After his interception, he drove his team twice down the field for two scores to win the game.

That throw to Sammy Watkins that set up the game-winning touchdown was incredible. He was quickly flushed out the pocket and hit on the run while throwing that pass.

I might say that it was Lamar Jackson-esque.

Huntley did a great job of managing the game and taking advantage of what the defense gave him. In the end, with the game on the line, Huntley was able to come through for the Ravens and led them to victory.

It was a great way to cap off his first NFL start.
