It hasn’t been an ideal start for Lamar Jackson on Sunday Night Football. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback tossed three interceptions in what has been a disastrous game for him so far.

Jackson finished the first half 10-of-17 for 74 yards and three interceptions as the Ravens took a 6-3 lead into halftime helped out by a missed field goal from their opponents, the Cleveland Browns.

But they’re probably fortunate to lead given Jackson’s mistake-filled start to this game.

Following a pretty respectable start, Jackson imploded as the first half came to a close. The 2019 MVP threw all three interceptions on his final five passes of the half.

But Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield wasn’t much better finishing the half 10-of-22 for 128 yards and multiple fumbles. Neither quarterback has played well by any stretch of the imagination.

The Ravens need a better performance from Lamar Jackson in the second half

Jackson’s first interception came on a tipped pass over the middle of the field. Intended for Mark Andrews, rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman got in the way over the middle of the field as the ball was tipped twice before ending up in the hands of Browns’ cornerback Denzel Ward.

The Ravens managed to hold Cleveland to a field goal, only for Jackson to throw another interception on the very next play. This time, he just locked in on Andrews and never saw safety Grant Delpit who scored the interception.

Two plays later, rookie Odafe Oweh forced a Baker Mayfield fumble as the Ravens looked to capitalize going into halftime. That is until Jackson threw his third pick in as many possessions on another pass to Andrews near the sideline.

This is only the second time in his career that Jackson has thrown three interceptions in a game.

The Ravens will need to see a better performance from Lamar Jackson in the second half if they are to win what has been a downright ugly game so far.
