2. Rashod Bateman, WR, Ravens: 31.5 receiving yards (o/u)
Rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman has had a couple of quiet days in a row recording just 60 yards over his last two games. That’s likely why his prop this week is as low as it is.
That said, it’s probably safer to bet the over on such a small prop bet.
Bateman’s 31.5 prop is very low considering the success he’s found early in his NFL career. He’s caught three or more passes in every game he’s played and commanded six or more targets in all but one game — that coming this past week when he hauled in all four of his targets.
Bateman will get his fair share of looks on Sunday, and although the Steelers defense has been hyped up quite a bit, it might not be as daunting as most expect.
The Steelers are actually giving up 7.6 yards per passing attempt which ranks as the 10th-lowest total in the league. In terms of yards per attempt, they’re in the bottom half of the NFL.
That could bode well for Bateman who would certainly benefit as well from a better game from Lamar Jackson. Jackson’s struggles last week combined with his absence the week prior have continued to Bateman’s mini-slump.
But assuming Jackson bounces back in Week 13, Bateman’s production should as well.
Much like with Jackson, bet the over here.
