Round 4, 138th Overall, Ravens: Haskell Garrett, DL, Ohio State
The Ravens need to undergo a complete youth movement on their defensive line this offseason which is why we drafted their second one here at the end of Round 4.
A fan-favorite at Ohio State, Haskell Garrett will be 24-years-old when he makes his NFL debut which will certainly hurt his stock. He has an incredibly high motor and the versatility to play both end and tackle in a 3-4 alignment.
Garrett might not have Pro Bowl upside, but he projects as a valuable young rotational defensive lineman which is something the Ravens desperately need.
Round 7, 223rd Overall, Ravens: Dontay Demus Jr., WR, Maryland
With their 10th and final pick, the Ravens opted to go with a bit of a local flavor in Maryland’s Dontay Demus Jr. here in the seventh round. And quite frankly, I was surprised he was still available this late.
The Washington D.C. native was the most explosive part of Maryland’s offense before suffering a gruesome knee injury early in the season. The 21-year-old is a dynamic playmaker who could be an excellent addition to the Ravens’ young wide receiver corps.
The last time the Ravens drafted a Maryland player was Torrey Smith back in 2011. Perhaps they could look to add another former Maryland receiver in Demus this spring.
