The Baltimore Ravens’ luck has officially run out in Week 16.
With no Lamar Jackson or Tyler Huntley, backup-backup quarterback Josh Johnson couldn’t muster enough to lead the Ravens to victory. Not against a Cincinnati Bengals team that played like that.
Baltimore fell early, and unlike Week 15 against the Green Bay Packers, the team never had a chance at coming back.
Joe Burrow and the Bengals brought all their weapons to play today, and the Ravens were simply too injured and shorthanded to deal with Cincinnati’s record-breaking and ultra-efficient passing offense.
Burrow threw for a whopping 525 yards and four touchdowns, moving the ball down the field like slicing a knife through butter.
If Burrow were a character in the Marvel universe he would be Thanos, and all his wide receivers and running backs would be the infinity stones that grant him limitless power.
Baltimore’s team, composed of mere mortals (except for Mark Andrews), never stood a fair chance. So far in 2021, Cincinnati has officially swept Baltimore, just as they had swept Pittsburgh earlier this season.
The implications of Week 16’s results are undeniable.
After Week 16’s loss, the Ravens fall to third place in the AFC North, and Baltimore’s playoff hopes have taken a U-turn for the worse as the Ravens no longer have their automatic postseason berth in 2021.
Let’s take a look at the studs and duds of the game.
