3. Jimmy Smith, CB, Ravens

Jimmy Smith has made it abundantly clear that he wants to finish his career with the Ravens and that he won’t even consider signing with another team.

Much like McPhee, Smith was a part of the Ravens’ 2011 draft class where he was selected with the 27th overall pick. He would go on to develop into one of the team’s best overall players, but it’s obvious his best days are behind him.

Injuries have plagued the latter portion of Smith’s career and he’s little more than a part-time player at this stage. Still, he’s a highly-respected locker room leader and remains an effective player on the field.

He proved that last Sunday when he received the start at cornerback due to various injuries at the position. Even at 33-years-old, Smith was able to go out there and play all 58 of the team’s defensive snaps. That’s just the type of player he is.

That said, it’s hard to imagine he has much of a future with the organization. The Ravens could look to bring Smith back for one final season, but he’s set to turn 34-years-old in July.

It’s likely the Ravens explore other options as they build out the depth in their cornerback room. And similar to McPhee, that would likely spell the end of Smith’s NFL career.

Fortunately, Smith should have the opportunity for a proper sendoff on Sunday as he’s expected to play an important role once again. A fitting end for a forever Raven.
