5. Tyler Huntley

The ugliest, most disappointing dud of them all. We hate to say it, but Lamar Jackson would have won this game. No question.

Even with Jackson’s recent slumping form, he would have known how to pick apart this Steelers team. Teams have begun to see through the cracks of backup Tyler Huntley, and in Week 18, those cracks only widened.

Huntley went 16-of-31 for 141 yards but failed to throw for a touchdown for the second time in 2021. He also threw two very, very bad picks, one of which came in the Steelers’ end zone.

Baltimore could have at least settled for a field goal to go up seven points, but the Ravens ended up turning the ball over to Pittsburgh, who trailed 10-6 in the fourth quarter.

Huntley looked like he was forcing too many passes to Mark Andrews all game — Andrews saw 16 total targets but only caught eight of them.

Baltimore had two glorious opportunities to end the game: once at the end of the fourth quarter when Huntley just needed to drive the ball down into field goal territory to set up a game-winning kick for Justin Tucker.

He couldn’t muster enough offensive firepower, though, and he threw three incomplete passes in a row before Baltimore ended up punting the ball.

In overtime, Ravens had the first possession, but Huntley could only make a roughly 25-yard gain up to Baltimore’s 50 yard-line before the team punted yet again.

Huntley still provides tremendous value as a backup quarterback, but the Ravens desperately needed Lamar Jackson, and not Tyler Huntley, this game.

Clutch heroics are Jackson’s (and Tucker’s) specialty, not Huntley’s.
