5. Marlon Humphrey, CB, Ravens

Marlon Humphrey was still a good player in 2021. Before we get into his underwhelming season, that much should absolutely be stated.

Without Marcus Peters for the entire season, Humphrey held down the role of CB1 and still played at a pretty high level. But given the standards he had set in the past, it’s safe to say that he did fall a little short.

Humphrey finished with a Pro Football Focus grade of 65.9 that ranked 42nd out of 120 qualified cornerbacks, tied with teammate Jimmy Smith.

That grade marked the lowest of his career to this point and a considerable step-down from his 2020 grade of 76.4 that ranked 12th at his position. He just wasn’t the same player this year.

Humphrey started 12 games before a torn pectoral muscle cut his season short adding injury to insult. Again, he wasn’t necessarily a bad player, but he was far from the All-Pro he was in previous seasons.

Some of this could be blamed on a lack of support. The Ravens were without Peters for the entire season and DeShon Elliott for half the year. This secondary was constantly picked on and Humphrey wasn’t alone.

But when you set an All-Pro standard you have to play like an All-Pro. Humphrey didn’t do that in 2021 which is why he lands on this list.
