Ravens TE coach Bobby Engram could leave for Wisconsin job

Amid the flurry of NFL personnel rumors, Baltimore Ravens tight ends coach Bobby Engram has quietly flown under the radar as a potential college football hire.
Engram is reportedly a candidate for the University of Wisconsin vacant offensive coordinator position, per ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren and Jamison Hensley.
Engram retired from professional football in 2011 and started his coaching career as an assistant for the San Francisco 49ers.
2021 marks his eighth season in Baltimore, and he currently heads the tight end unit (he worked as a wide receivers coach for the first five years).

Given the meteoric rise of Mark Andrews, Engram must have been doing something right during his time in Baltimore.
Along with Andrews, Engram has worked with tight ends Nick Boyle, Eric Tomlinson, and Hayden Hurst in recent years as well as versatile Pro Bowl fullback Patrick Ricard.
While Baltimore’s tight ends department may miss him, Engram’s strong ties to Wisconsin make his potential departure all the more sensible.
Engram’s son plays as a cornerback for the Badgers, and Engram has worked with Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst before, back when they both coached at the University of Pittsburgh.
In the wake of Don Martindale’s firing, the Ravens’ front office doesn’t seem timid at all about making significant coaching changes.
The Ravens have also set an example as one of the best-run coaching factories in the league, often opting for in-house hires as opposed to going outside of the organization.
The Badgers job would be Engram’s first stint as an offensive coordinator, albeit at the collegiate level, and he deserves the chance as much as anyone.
If Engram finds a new home in Wisconsin, Baltimore wishes him only the best.
