The Baltimore Ravens are entering one of the more pivotal offseasons in franchise history. From Lamar Jackson’s pending extension to a number of important in-house free agents to a crucial 2022 NFL Draft, there will be no shortage of critical decisions to be made over the coming months.

And while the Ravens have done their best work when building internally through the draft, there will certainly be some holes to plug this offseason.

First, however, they’ll need to determine which of their internal free agents they want to bring back. There are a few very notable names set to hit the open market this offseason, and the Ravens aren’t going to be able to bring all of them back.

We will be updating this tracker in the coming months once free agency kicks off with a list of all free agents who the Ravens sign and every player the team lets walk.

For now, let’s take a look at which players they could (or should) look to re-sign this offseason.

Who are the Ravens 2022 unrestricted free agents?

  • CB Anthony Averett
  • LB Chris Board
  • C Bradley Bozeman
  • LB Josh Bynes
  • DE Calais Campbell
  • S DeShon Elliott
  • NT Justin Ellis
  • LB L. J. Fort
  • RB Devonta Freeman
  • OLB Justin Houston
  • S Tony Jefferson
  • QB Josh Johnson
  • OLB Pernell McPhee
  • RB Latavius Murray
  • FB Patrick Ricard
  • OT David Sharpe
  • CB Jimmy Smith
  • TE Eric Tomlinson
  • WR Sammy Watkins
  • NT Brandon Williams

There are quite a few players on this list who played significant roles in 2021. The likes of Bradley Bozeman, Anthony Averett, Calais Campbell, DeShon Elliott, Patrick Ricard, and Justin Houston are just a few of the players the Ravens will have to make decisions on.

Bozeman is probably the most important, but recent reports suggest the two sides are still far apart on contract talks. Both sides want a reunion to happen, but agreeing on a price point might be difficult.

Provided Campbell doesn’t retire, there’s a decent chance he will be back. The same can’t be said for the likes of Averett and Houston who could be out of Baltimore’s price range.

With just over $14 million in cap space prior to cuts, the Ravens don’t have much money to spend. Difficult decisions are going to have to be made. No one should envy the job general manager Eric DeCosta has this offseason.

Who are the Ravens 2022 restricted free agents?

  • LB Otaro Alaka (RFA)
  • CB Chris Westry (RFA)
  • C Trystan Colon (ERFA)
  • NT Aaron Crawford (ERFA)
  • CB Khalil Dorsey (ERFA)
  • QB Tyler Huntley (ERFA)
  • OT Brandon Knight (ERFA)
  • LS Nick Moore (ERFA)
  • S Geno Stone (ERFA)
  • LB Kristian Welch (ERFA)
  • RB Ty’Son Williams (ERFA)

The safe bet is to assume that most of the players on this list (if not all) return in 2022. Some of the most notable names are quarterback Tyler Huntley, cornerback Chris Westry, safety Gemo Stone, running back Ty’Son Williams, and long snapper Nick Moore.

Huntley will return and likely be the backup behind Lamar Jackson once again. Westry and Stone could compete for roles in the secondary in 2022 as well.

Williams should return and compete for the RB3 role behind J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards while Moore will be the team’s long snapper again after another flawless season.

There shouldn’t be much to talk about here. If there is, then something went very wrong.
