The Baltimore Ravens have a surprising amount of needs to address this offseason. Despite the franchise consistently possessing one of the deepest rosters in football, the Ravens learned last year that you can never have too much depth.

Now going into the 2022 offseason, the Ravens have quite a few positions that need addressing and not a ton of cap space to make moves. They do, however, have plenty of draft capital to add players who can contribute both in 2022 and the future.

They’ll need to make good use of those picks too because this roster has more holes than most probably realize. But which positions are in need of addressing the most?

We take a look at the seven biggest weaknesses on the Ravens’ roster heading into the 2022 offseason.

7. Ravens Roster Need: Tight end

The Ravens already have arguably the best tight end in football on their roster in Mark Andrews. But the Ravens always live by the philosophy that you can never have too much tight end depth.

Unfortunately, they lack any serious depth at the moment. Nick Boyle returned from injury midway through the 2021 season and while his return was heartfelt, he wasn’t nearly as effective as his pre-injury self.

Josh Oliver served as the team’s TE3 for most of the season and was largely a nonfactor while Eric Tomlinson proved to be a capable replacement for Boyle as the team’s blocking tight end.

Still, the Ravens can’t rely on Boyle returning to full strength in 2022, especially with nothing behind him. Expect them to address the position in some way this offseason.
