The Baltimore Ravens have seen a few changes to their coaching staff this offseason, and over the last couple of days, they’ve reportedly filled most of the openings remaining on their staff.

The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec reported on Thursday that the Ravens had hired former Miami Dolphins co-offensive coordinator George Godsey to be their new tight ends coach. Godsey replaces Bobby Engram who left to become the tight ends coach at Wisconsin last month.

The Ravens also hired former Dolphins assistant Rob Leonard to be their new outside linebackers coach, replacing Drew Wilkins who departed to seek other opportunities with now-former defensive coordinator Don Martindale.

Finally, the Ravens added Ryan Osborn to their staff to fill the role of defensive quality control coach under new defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald.

The Ravens coaching staff is pretty much full

Godsey is the most reputable of the new coaches having served as an assistant coach at the NFL level for over a decade now. A former college quarterback at Georgia Tech, Godsey joined the UCF coaching staff in 2004 and would spend over a half-decade there as a quarterbacks coach and later a running backs coach.

He joined the New England Patriots as an offensive assistant in 2011 before transitioning to the role of tight ends coach in 2012. Godsey would spend the next 11 years working under Bill Belichick or Bill Belichick disciples.

He worked under Bill O’Brien in Houston first serving as their quarterbacks coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator ahead of the 2015 season. He spent two years with the Detroit Lions under Matt Patricia from 2017 to 2018 as a defensive assistant and quarterbacks coach.

Godsey has spent the last three seasons under Brian Flores in Miami as the team’s tight ends coach and later co-offensive coordinator. His extensive experience should serve as a benefit to the Ravens’ new-look coaching staff.

A little less is known about Leonard and Osborn, however. Leonard most recently served as the outside linebackers coach in Miami and has also worked as a defensive assistant with the New York Giants.

Osborn was most recently a defensive analyst under Macdonald in Michigan and will follow him to his new job in Baltimore.

The Ravens have now filled all of the apparent holes on their coaching staff.
