Ravens land superstar EDGE in 7-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft
By Justin Fried
Round 4, 138th Overall, Ravens: Dohnovan West, C/OG, Arizona State
Let’s make it back-to-back interior offensive linemen and the third overall offensive lineman in this draft. This time we draft the athletic, versatile Dohnovan West.
West has experience playing both guard spots and started all of the 2021 season at center making him an incredibly appealing prospect for a Ravens team that might be looking for answers at both left guard and center with Bradley Bozeman possibly leaving in free agency.
At 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, West is athletic enough to pull and get out into the second level and strong enough to have plenty of power at the point of attack.
His versatility might be his greatest selling point as he lacks any true elite traits, but given the Ravens’ needs at both guard and center, West makes sense.
Round 4, 140th Overall, Ravens: Khalil Shakir, WR, Boise State
Wide receiver isn’t nearly as pressing of a need for the Ravens this offseason as it has been in recent years, but I’d still expect them to make at least one addition, especially with Sammy Watkins likely departing.
Boise State’s Khalil Shakir makes sense as a potential mid-round target who can serve as an excellent replacement for Watkins given that the two players have similar skill sets.
At 6-foot, 185 pounds, Shakir has fantastic deep speed and his tracking ability helps make him a dangerous vertical threat. Adding another downfield weapon could continue to expand the Ravens’ passing game.
Round 6, 194th Overall, Ravens: Isaac Taylor-Stuart, CB, USC
With our last pick, we went back to the secondary adding a physically talented cornerback in the form of USC’s Isaac Taylor-Stuart. Taylor-Stuart has the athletic mold that the Ravens look for in their cornerbacks.
Standing at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Taylor-Stuart blends great size/length with exceptional athleticism to give him a high ceiling in the NFL.
He’s a bit of a work in progress when it comes to technique, but as a late-round developmental project, Taylor-Stuart makes plenty of sense for a Ravens team that can never have too many talented defensive backs.
