Ravens players troll Eli Apple following Super Bowl LVI loss
By Kristen Wong
Raise your hand if you’ve been personally victimized by Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Eli Apple. All the Baltimore Ravens players’ hands should be up.
The Ravens delighted in seeing their AFC North rivals lose to the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI, but the best part of the game involved a little payback to an irritating enemy.
For those who watch the Super Bowl as an excuse to eat wings, drink beer, and call out of the work the next day, this tweet is for you.
Eli Apple unashamedly went after the Ravens in the 2021 season, first by making fun of the team’s “Big Truss” mantra and then by provoking the Ravens fanbase prior to a Week 16 matchup between Cincinnati and Baltimore.
Apple’s fiercest enemies are those from his former teams, the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants, as well as the subjects of his impetuous trash-talk.
The only thing — the only thing — the Ravens have done to Apple is exist in the AFC North. Apple took it upon himself to belittle Baltimore and its fans all of last season, so Ravens players gave him a taste of his own medicine during Super Bowl LVI.
Ravens players relentlessly ridicule Eli Apple after Super Bowl LVI
After Apple allowed Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp to score the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter, Lamar Jackson, Marquise Brown, and Rashod Bateman took to Twitter and spared no feelings.

Apple’s rift with the Ravens only started recently, when Cincinnati signed Apple to a one-year contract following the 2020 season.
The Bengals notably swept the Ravens in 2021, scoring 41 points in each meeting, and finished top of the division, so Bengals players have a legitimate reason to be proud of their team. Mocking one’s opponents, however, is just a low blow.
Next season, the Bengals won’t be the only AFC North team competing for the Super Bowl. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens stand as worthy adversaries in what could be the beginning of a beautiful AFC North rivalry.
Apple can go after Baltimore all he wants next season, but the Ravens don’t forget easily.
