The Baltimore Ravens will be one of 32 teams in attendance for this week’s 2022 NFL Combine kicking off today. And they’ll have their eyes on a number of highly-touted prospects.
While the NFL Combine isn’t the be-all, end-all test of athletic skills that it once was, the event is still a useful tool for scouts on the road to the NFL Draft.
Even aside from the athletic drills, the Combine presents another opportunity for teams to meet with prospects and get to know them on a personal level.
Let’s take a look at 14 prospects that the Ravens should pay close attention to over the coming days.
1. Ravens target: Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
With LSU’s Derek Stingley Jr. not participating in testing, Ahmad Gardner has a chance to establish himself as the top cornerback in this class. For the Ravens, they’re honestly hoping he doesn’t, however.
The 6-foot-2 Gardner could light it up at the Combine and prevent the Ravens from having any chance at drafting him, barring a trade-up. He has a lot to gain at this year’s event.
2. Ravens target: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
If Gardner is gone by the time the Ravens pick, one cornerback they could target is Washington’s Trent McDuffie. McDuffie probably isn’t going to test as well as the likes of Gardner, Andrew Booth, Kaiir Elam, and others.
That said, he could win some teams over in the interview portion. On top of that, his measurements will be important to watch as they could determine whether some teams view him as a slot-exclusive prospect at the next level.
