2. Josh Bynes, LB, Ravens

Of all the players on this list, the player who seems the most likely to be brought back is linebacker Josh Bynes. And according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, the team already has an offer out for him.

Zrebiec is reporting that the Ravens have already extended a “veteran minimum type offer” to Bynes and that he’s currently just weighing his options and seeing what else is out there on the market.

My hunch is that this one gets done, probably sooner rather than later.

Bynes began his career in Baltimore over a decade ago when he joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn. He spent the first few years of his career with the Ravens before bouncing around with a few teams.

Bynes returned in 2019 and played well enough to earn a starting gig in Cincinnati the subsequent season. That wouldn’t be the last Ravens fans would see of Bynes, however, as he returned just prior to the start of the 2021 season.

The 32-year-old Bynes was brought back to provide much-needed linebacker depth following a season-ending injury suffered by L.J. Fort. He soon found himself in the starting lineup once again.

Bynes was an important veteran presence in the Ravens’ defense, and it shouldn’t go overlooked that Patrick Queen played his best football when Bynes was lined up beside him.

Both parties remain interested in a return and I’d bet it happens before long.
