3. Ravens target: Calais Campbell, DL

We know that Calais Campbell will play at least one more year in the NFL. He made that clear when he announced shortly after the Super Bowl that he wasn’t planning to retire just yet.

What we don’t know is where he will be playing what could be his final season. The Ravens certainly hope it’s in Baltimore.

The 14-year NFL veteran has had a long and storied career racking up six Pro Bowl appearances, a first-team All-Pro honor, and just shy of 100 career sacks. He has little left to prove.

One thing he hasn’t accomplished, however, is winning that elusive Lombardi Trophy. Campbell is likely looking to sign on with a team that he believes gives him the best chance to win a Super Bowl.

The Ravens, at least on paper, do have the potential to compete for a championship in 2022, but will they be the most likely team that’s interested in Campbell? Possibly not.

The AFC is as hard as it’s ever been and the addition of Deshaun Watson only makes the AFC North that much more challenging. There’s no doubt the Ravens could use someone like Campbell, though.

Even at 35-years-old, Campbell is still playing at a very high level and, given the lack of depth currently on the Ravens’ defensive line, they really need him back.

Will it happen? That much remains to be seen. But the Ravens are without a doubt interested.
