The Baltimore Ravens did a lot of things right this offseason, despite the complaints of some nitpicking analysts.
After a slow start to free agency, they got the ball rolling by picking up valuable starting-caliber upgrades at crucial positions, including safety Marcus Williams, offensive lineman Morgan Moses, and defensive tackle Michael Pierce.
They tried to find bargains where they could (i.e. Za’Darius Smith) but didn’t give into player demands, and they’re now left with a considerable amount of cap space to work with. While other AFC teams got bigger, better, and stronger, so, too, did the Ravens, who have quietly crept back into the conference as a formidable threat and Super Bowl-contending powerhouse.
With plenty of time before the start of the 2022 season, what’s next on Baltimore’s to-do list?
Other than choose wisely in the draft, which is basically on every NFL’s team agenda, the Ravens could still make important moves to win the offseason. When the AFC North is becoming more unpredictable by the hour, Baltimore need to make the most sensible and prudent decisions to ensure their success.
These are three early keys to the Ravens’ success this season.
