The Baltimore Ravens have attempted to swing big this offseason, but apart from the addition of Marcus Williams, they’ve missed out on a number of high-profile free-agent targets.

There was the whole debacle with Za’Darius Smith, rumored targets such as Ryan Jensen and Emmanuel Ogbah, and most recently former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner.

The Ravens want to make another big move and it’s highly unlikely that they’re done signing free agents. So after missing out on Wagner, which remaining free agents could they attempt to sign?

Let’s take a look at five free agents the Ravens could pivot to after failing to sign Bobby Wagner.

5. The Ravens could still sign Tyrann Mathieu

Yes, the Ravens already signed Marcus Williams in free agency. Targeting another star (and expensive) safety seems unlikely — and it probably is.

That said, if the Ravens still want to make a splash in free agency, there are few better ways to do that than by signing Tyrann Mathieu. It wasn’t long ago that Mathieu was the preferred free-agent target for many Ravens fans either.

The three-time Pro Bowler remains a free agent and is evidently still weighing his options. He could co-exist with Williams and Chuck Clark giving the team phenomenal safety depth.

Mathieu is a versatile player who can be used all over, perhaps even more at slot cornerback. It’s not the most likely option, but signing Mathieu would sure be fun.
