Round 5, 163rd Overall, Ravens: Haskell Garrett, DT, Ohio State

Even after re-signing Calais Campbell, expect the Ravens to come away with at least one defensive lineman in the draft. It’s just the way that Eric DeCosta operates.

In this scenario, we managed to land former Ohio State standout Haskell Garrett with the fifth-rounder acquired from the Jets. Garrett is a former four-star recruit who projects best as a 3-technique at the next level.

He’s built low to the ground and possesses an explosive first step that allows him to impact the game as a pass rusher. Right now, he’s just lacking a true pass-rush arsenal and his lack of play strength tends to see him get overpowered from time to time.

Garrett would be best fit as a rotational interior pass rusher whose athleticism provides a solid floor for the impact he’ll have in the NFL.

Round 6, 196th Overall, Ravens: Max Mitchell, OT, Louisiana

With our final pick, we went back to the offensive line and addressed a position that is in desperate need of extra depth: offensive tackle.

Ronnie Stanley’s health remains a question mark and the Ravens don’t have a viable swing tackle who can play both tackle spots on their roster. That’s where a player like Max Mitchell can step in.

A three-year starter at Louisiana-Lafayette, Mitchell has experience playing both left and right tackle and has the skill set you look for in a developmental swing tackle.

He’s not someone who should be asked to play early, but his versatility and athletic ceiling make him very appealing at this spot.
