Ravens: 3 must-watch quarterback matchups in 2022

Ravens’ QB Matchup No. 2: Tom Brady
What exactly did Tom Brady mean when he told Lamar Jackson, “You’re next“?
Back when he first officially “retired,” the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback could have passed the torch to any young talent, but he chose Jackson. Brady has played Jackson just once in his career: in 2019, Jackson’s Ravens beat Brady’s Patriots in a 37-20 victory.
The two now face each other in Week 8 in what projects to be a highly anticipated QB showdown for both sides.
This will mark the first (and potentially final) time Brady plays the Ravens as a Buccaneer, and he’ll put Baltimore’s elite secondary to the test with a scary wideout trio of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Russell Gage.
During his tenure in New England, Brady did share some history with the Ravens sans Lamar Jackson, besting Baltimore eight out of 12 times and establishing a friendly rivalry against the likes of Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, and Ed Reed.
Even if the Ravens’ defense locks down this game, Lamar Jackson still must prove his value as not only a top AFC quarterback but also Brady’s potential heir.
He’ll have to put together a perfect performance against the G.O.A.T. to give Baltimore a shot at toppling the Super Bowl favorites — this could easily be Jackson’s toughest game all season.
