2. Ravens target: Dee Ford

The Ravens have had plenty of their own injury problems so perhaps some might scoff at the idea of adding a player like Dee Ford who has played seven games in two years. But options are slim at this time of the year.

Ford was released by the San Francisco 49ers late last month after a turbulent three years with the team that saw him miss 31 of a possible 49 games. That’s not an ideal ratio, to say the least.

Ford has battled recurring neck and back injuries over the last two seasons and it’s unclear what his status is entering 2022, but if he’s healthy, he’s certainly worth a look for Baltimore.

The former Pro Bowler is still a very talented player when healthy. He proved that by recording three sacks in just six games last season. Ford might just be worth the risk.

1. Ravens target: Jason Pierre-Paul

This one feels like the most obvious. The Ravens have been connected to veteran Jason Pierre-Paul at various points this offseason and even brought him in for a visit before re-signing Justin Houston.

The organization was clearly interested in Pierre-Paul not too long ago. Perhaps they come calling again with Biegel now done for the season.

Pierre-Paul is another former Pro Bowler who recorded 8.5 or more sacks in every season from 2017 to 2020. That said, he’s coming off a lackluster, injury-riddled 2021 campaign that saw him finish with a lowly 2.5 sacks.

The Ravens would be banking on Pierre-Paul bouncing back after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. If he does, he could turn out to be a heck of a signing in early August.
