The Baltimore Ravens will travel to Foxboro in Week to take on the New England Patriots as their tour of the AFC East continues. This week, they’ll have vengeance on their mind after last week’s embarrassing fourth-quarter collapse.
The Ravens fell short against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2, blowing a 21-point fourth-quarter lead to lose by a final score of 42-38. It was a disastrous collapse that won’t be forgotten by Ravens fans for a long time.
But one way to put that loss in the rearview mirror is to come out this week against the Patriots and rebound with a victory. They should have a pretty good opportunity to do so against a less-than-stellar Patriots team too.
Let’s take a look at three of the best bets you can make for this week’s Ravens/Patriots matchup. All odds courtesy of FanDuel.
Best Ravens Bets Week 3
Ravens cover the spread (-2.5)
The Ravens are just 2.5-point favorites on the road against the Patriots this week which feels like a low number. Yes, the Patriots are notoriously difficult to beat on the road, but this isn’t the same Patriots team of old.
While New England bounced back with a three-point win over the Pittsburgh Steelers a week ago, the Patriots just don’t have enough offensive firepower to pose a consistent threat in games.
The Patriots’ defense is still good, but the Ravens just have the much more explosive offense in this matchup. Not to mention, New England’s secondary is banged up and not what it used to be.
I feel comfortable picking the Ravens to cover the spread in this game. If not, there might be some serious problems in Baltimore.
Mark Andrews anytime touchdown scorer (+135)
Another week, another bet on Mark Andrews scoring a touchdown. Andrews found the end zone for the first time last week, part of a nine-catch, 104-yard game against the Dolphins.
While he was held without a touchdown in Week 1, Andrews faces a golden opportunity against a Patriots defense that allowed a score to Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth a week ago.
With Lamar Jackson firing on all cylinders to start the 2022 season, Andrews feels like a safe bet to score a touchdown, especially with the potential payout on these odds.
It’s not a guarantee, but betting Andrews to score a touchdown in Week 3 could be a good way to make some fast money.
Lamar Jackson OVER 1.5 passing touchdowns (+118)
It seems a little odd to me that the betting odds indicate that Jackson is more likely to toss one or fewer passing touchdowns in Week 3 than two or more. That’s part of the reason I’m taking this bet.
Jackson has thrown for three touchdowns in each of his first two games and his next challenge is a Patriots secondary led by the likes of Jalen Mills and Jonathan Jones at cornerback.
This Patriots secondary isn’t the team’s strong suit and Lamar Jackson could take advantage of that, especially given how well he’s played through the first two weeks of the season.
Take the over and feel good about it.
