Could the Baltimore Ravens make a huge mid-season splash and sign former Rams wideout Odell Beckham Jr. in 2022?

The odds are low, but there’s still a chance. Following Rashod Bateman’s injury, the Ravens are yet again linked to free agent wide receivers with OBJ being the name at the top of the list.

After a Super Bowl-winning season with Los Angeles, OBJ has been rumored to join a handful of teams including the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Buffalo Bills. Beckham tore his ACL for the second time in the championship game against the Bengals and is reportedly targeting a mid-November return to the field.

Given the immediate impact OBJ made on the Rams last year, the Ravens could take a page from Los Angeles’ “screw them picks” philosophy and consider bringing on the talented wideout.

The Ravens star quarterback certainly thinks signing OBJ could be a match made in heaven.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson fuels rumors with recent Twitter interaction

Beckham helped the Rams the most in the postseason when he came up big with crucial game-changing plays against the Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and San Francisco 49ers.

The wideout has been linked the Baltimore this past summer and in theory could serve the exact same role on the Ravens as he did on the Rams. Baltimore has affirmed their confidence in its wide receiver corps time and time again this season, opting to start the year with a starting trio of Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay, and Demarcus Robinson; James Proche and Tylan Wallace serve as depth behind those three.

Duvernay has been growing nicely into a starting-caliber receiver and Bateman’s injury doesn’t seem too serious, but the Ravens’ thin wideout corps nonetheless remains an area of mild concern.

It’s only five weeks into the season, and the Ravens will want to stockpile as many talented offensive weapons possible to make a deep playoff run. OBJ is one tantalizing option, that’s for sure.
