Baltimore Ravens’ Justin Houston exploded onto the scene in Week 9’s primetime matchup against the New Orleans Saints and wrote his way into history.
Houston signed a one-year deal with the Ravens this past offseason, and that re-signing just might be the best bargain investment of the year.
The recent Roquan Smith acquisition has already paid off nicely, yet Houston deserves all the credit in the defense after his show-stopping performance in Week 9. So far, Houston has recorded 2.5 sacks, three quarterback hits, and one pass defended along with one crucial interception in the fourth quarter.
Houston’s multi-sack performance puts him in a very elite tier: he’s the only Ravens player in history to have recorded three consecutive games with multiple sacks.
Ravens OLB Justin Houston has been a pass-rushing monster in Week 9
In 2022, Houston missed a handful of games due to injury but has returned better than ever, posting two sacks in Week 7 and another two in Week 8.
He upped his season total to 8.5 sacks with his Week 9 numbers and ranks as the team’s most productive sack artist. Houston’s signing was considered one of the most underrated moves of the offseason, and he seems to be only getting better with time.
After a slow start to the season, Baltimore’s pass-rush projects to become even more dangerous with David Ojabo returning and Tyus Bowser easing his way back into a rotational role.
Here’s to a truly spectacular game from Houston.
