Ravens Week 9 Inactive Report: Gus Edwards and Mark Andrews sidelined
By Justin Fried
The Baltimore Ravens have released their list of inactives ahead of their Week 9 meeting with the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football, and there are a few notable players on the list.
Tight end Mark Andrews and running back Gus Edwards are among those inactives as both players will miss Monday night’s game due to injury. Andrews was downgraded to OUT earlier this weekend while Edwards was listed as questionable.
The remaining inactives consist of linebacker Josh Bynes, wide receiver Tylan Wallace, offensive lineman Ben Cleveland, and outside linebacker David Ojabo.
Of the four, Ojabo is the only one that is injury-related as the rookie pass rusher is still working his way back to full health after being activated off the injured reserve last week.
The Ravens will be without two key offensive players in Week 9
While Andrews and Edwards were expected to be sidelined, their absences will still be felt. Look for the Ravens to lean on Isaiah Likely with Andrews out with Josh Oliver and Nick Boyle the other tight ends in line for an increase in playing time.
Kenyan Drake should step in as the Ravens’ top running back, although we should see plenty of Justice Hill and perhaps some Mike Davis as well.
The most surprising addition to the inactive list is Josh Bynes who has started alongside Patrick Queen at linebacker this season. The addition of Roquan Smith made it so that the Ravens didn’t need to have Bynes active.
The likes of Kristian Welch, Malik Harrison, and Del’Shawn Phillips offer more on special teams which is why they get the nod over Bynes.
Wallace and Cleveland have been inactive most weeks, and the decision to elevate both DeSean Jackson and Binjimen Victor from the practice squad always made it likely that Wallace would not play this week.
The Ravens take on the Saints with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 pm ET tonight.
