Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was forced to exit Wednesday’s practice early with a quad injury and popped up on the injury report as limited.
It’s unclear whether or not Jackson suffered the injury during practice or if it was already something he was dealing with, but it is notable that he wasn’t a full participant.
While Jackson has yet to miss a game this season, he has missed practices in each of the last two weeks. A week ago Jackson sat out of Wednesday’s practice with a hip injury while he missed time two weeks ago due to an illness.
This time, Jackson is missing practice time due to a quad injury. The former MVP was scheduled to speak with reporters after Wednesday’s practice, but he’s now expected to speak on Thursday and Friday instead, per Ravens officials.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson misses more practice time due to injury
The severity of Jackson’s injury is unknown and we likely won’t receive any further updates until Thursday. For now, Jackson’s status is worth monitoring over the next 24 hours.
There’s no explicit reason to be seriously concerned about Jackson’s injury status, but anytime a quarterback unexpectedly lands on the injury report, it’s a notable occurrence.
That’s especially true for Jackson who has notably been banged up the last few weeks. From his seemingly annual illness to a hip injury to now a quad injury, Jackson isn’t firing at 100 percent.
The Ravens could ill afford to have Jackson miss any time, especially in the midst of a tightly-contested playoff race. Following a disappointing loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12, the Ravens are looking to bounce back against the Denver Broncos this Sunday.
While the Broncos have had their fair share of struggles on offense, their defense remains one of the best in football. They’ll need Jackson to be at his best if they’re going to put up points against Denver this week.
We should have more information on Lamar Jackson’s status tomorrow.
