Ravens players show support for Bills safety Damar Hamlin after terrifying collapse
By Kristen Wong
Following Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s scary collapse on Monday Night Football, Baltimore Ravens players — along with the rest of the football world — kept Hamlin in their prayers.
The Cincinnati Bengals faced the Buffalo Bills on Monday in a Week 17 game that had serious consequences for the AFC, yet no one could be prepared for the traumatic events that were about to take place.
The Bengals were up 7-3 with the ball in their own half, and Joe Burrow had just completed a pass to wideout Tee Higgins. Bills’ Hamlin collided with Higgins during the play, tackling Higgins to the ground, and he got to his feet before falling down a second or so later.
He was taken off the field within minutes and appeared to be receiving CPR before he was carted off by an ambulance. The game was rightfully postponed after the incident.
Buffalo tweeted on Tuesday morning that Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest and remains in the hospital in critical condition.

Hamlin received an outpouring of support from players, coaches, and fans alike, and Ravens players offered their prayers as they watched the horrifying scene unfold.
Some things are bigger than football, and the entire world is wishing Hamlin a speedy and full recovery.
Hamlin had started a toy drive on GoFundMe that surpassed $3 million in donations after Monday night — the fundraiser’s original goal was $2,500. The 24-year-old was in his second year with the Bills and recorded 91 tackles and 1.5 sacks so far this season.
Let’s all keep Hamlin in our prayers during this difficult time.
