The Baltimore Ravens pulled through in their must-win matchup in Week 8, defeating the Chicago Bears 30-16. After a slow start, it ended up being a strong end-to-end performance with all three phases coming to play.
The team saw notable performances across the board as they pulled away in the second half and improved to 2-5 on Sunday.
Here are four winners and one loser from the Ravens’ statement win against the Bears.
4 winners and 1 loser from Ravens’ Week 8 win
Winner: Tyler Huntley
Quarterback Tyler Huntley is the most obvious winner from Week 8. Huntley was the third-string quarterback for most of the year, but jumped Cooper Rush for the backup job. On Saturday, he found out he would be starting for Lamar Jackson, who is taking it easy on his injured hamstring entering a short week with two games in five days. Huntley did not miss a beat.
He finished the game completing 17 of 22 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown, and added 53 yards on the ground on eight rushes.
While the offense went three and out on the first drive with Huntley, they quickly fell into a rhythm thereafter. It was the best the offense has looked in weeks, and they are finding their footing at the perfect time, with Jackson expected to return on Thursday against the Miami Dolphins.
Winner: Zach Orr
Defensive Coordinator Zach Orr’s defense has put together back-to-back impressive performances. In their Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, they allowed just 17 points. In Week 8, they looked even more sound, holding Chicago to 16 points and instilling a bend-don’t-break mentality in the red zone.
It started rough from a defensive perspective, but Orr and his unit adjusted well throughout the day. They limited the big play and made every set of downs an intense battle to move the chains. Baltimore also pressured Bears’ quarterback Caleb Williams all day, tallying one sack and forcing two intentional grounding penalties.
It was also another week where the Ravens forced a turnover, this time coming off an interception from cornerback Nate Wiggins, which put the eventual nail in the coffin.
Loser: Andrew Vorhees
In a game where almost everyone was making plays, left guard Andrew Vorhees had an underwhelming performance. He was put on skates late in the second quarter on a third-down play, leading to a sack on Huntley, and forcing a Tyler Loop field goal.

Vorhees allowed the most pressures on the offensive line with two and posted a grade of 48.5, per Pro Football Focus.
The interior offensive line has struggled all year, and while they looked steadier with the quicker passing game, Vorhees had trouble holding his own.
Winner: Roquan Smith
Linebacker Roquan Smith returned to action for the first time since injuring his hamstring in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs, and he played a prominent role in Baltimore’s win on Sunday.
Smith made his presence known in his first game against his former team. He led the team with 12 tackles, commanded the middle of the field, and helped put together a complete game on defense.
The unit was in sync, the run defense looked strong, and the passing defense looked miles better than it had looked to start the season. Much of their encouraging performance can be thanks to Smith’s communication in the center of the unit.
Winner: Zay Flowers
After a disastrous showing against the Rams in Week 6 that saw him lose two fumbles, wide receiver Zay Flowers answered the call against the Bears. He was the go-to target for Huntley, hauling in seven of his nine targets for 63 yards.
Flowers came through in several critical moments, moving the chains and using his elusiveness after the catch to set up the offense in favorable situations.
The Pro Bowl wideout has been enjoying a career year in 2025, and he is showing that no matter who is under center, he is a game-changing threat every week.
