Baltimore Ravens fans are probably paying attention to what's happening in Dallas between the Cowboys and star pass rusher Micah Parsons because, quite frankly, it's hard not to. The Cowboys have probably known since Parsons' stellar rookie year that they were going to need to pony up and pay the man at some point but they continue to kick the can down the road.

Why are we discussing this on a Ravens site? Well, because the latest update from Adam Schefter is not good for Cowboys fans but it could end up being great news for the Ravens. While appearing on ESPN Radio, Schefter said, "Could a deal happen? Yes. There's zero indication that it's going to happen. It sounds like, at some point in time, whether that's now, after the season, after two seasons, like the two sides are headed towards a divorce."

For Cowboys fans, that's a whole lot of oof. For Ravens fans, however, there's still some hope that maybe, just maybe, the team could swing for the fences and strike a deal for Parsons.

Adam Schefter just gave Ravens fans reason to dream about Micah Parsons

There's no debate that Parsons would make the Ravens a much more dangerous team. Since entering the NFL in 2021, Parsons has tallied double-digit sacks in every season and been an absolute wrecking ball defensively.

Considering how much of a strength the Ravens defense has been in recent years, adding Parsons to the fold would only make them scarier. The Ravens pass rush finished second in sacks a season ago with Kyle Van Noy leading the way with 12.5. So yeah, throwing Parsons into that mix would be downright lethal.

All of that being said, landing Parsons would take a lot. In all likelihood, the Ravens would have to part with at least one first-round pick and potentially even a key player if they wanted to secure the star pass-rusher. Is the team willing to surrender that much to acquire a proven talent?

Working in their favor is that they're in an entirely different conference than Dallas, which could help tip the scale in their direction. The Cowboys could land a king's ransom for Parsons and rarely have to face him, which sounds like a win.

So many of these contract standoff stories end with the player eventually signing with the team and all being peachy keen. Will that end up being the case with Parsons and the Cowboys? If he truly is on the trade block, would the Ravens have a shot at bringing him in?

We'll know all of these answers in the coming weeks but Ravens fans sure would love to see Parsons wearing purple and black for the foreseeable future.
