Amid an underwhelming 2025 campaign, the Baltimore Ravens have a ton of questions to answer. They only have four games to get their season back on track and clinch a playoff berth, but they also have a ton of players to extend before the 2026 offseason.
One of those was defensive tackle Travis Jones, but General Manager Eric DeCosta continued to work quickly and inked another contract with a key contributor.
Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic was first to report the move. Baltimore and Jones finalized a three-year, $40.5 million contract on Thursday. He will earn an annual salary of $13.5 million

The defense has been inconsistent this year. They kicked off the season playing horrendous defense. They were putting up historically bad numbers, but following a Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, they began righting the ship. However, in Week 14 vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, the cracks reappeared. The unit is still far from perfect, but retaining Jones is the perfect move to set Defensive Coordinator Zach Orr’s group up for success moving forward.
Ravens extend Travis Jones
Ravens fans were desperate for Jones to stay in Charm City. While the defense has picked up the slack throughout the season, the defensive line has remained a problem. Jones’ play alongside veteran defensive tackle John Jenkins in the middle has stood out, though.
Through 14 weeks, Jones has posted a 74.5 overall grade per Pro Football Focus (PFF), ranking 14th among defensive linemen. He does not jump off the page as a pass rusher, but has a 62.9 pass-rush grade and 23 hurries. More notably, he is an elite run defender, posting a 76.2 run defense grade, ranking sixth.
The 23-year-old is obviously a key part of the defense for the foreseeable future. In today’s league, it all starts with stopping the run, and Jones is doing just that. Over the past three seasons, he has consistently ranked among the best in run-stopping rate. This year, that rate is up to 11%, which is seventh in the NFL.
Travis Jones' run stop rate the past 3 seasons, per PFF:
— Jonas Shaffer (@jonas_shaffer) December 11, 2025
🟣 2023: 11.5% (7th among DL with 150 run snaps)
⚫️ 2024: 8% (23rd)
🟣 2025: 11% (7th)
One of the best nose tackles in the NFL. With a more consistent pass rush, he'll be one of the best defenders.
Of course, Jones still needs to progress as a pass rusher. He has 1.5 sacks this year and only five through four seasons. Regardless, he has become the most productive part of the defensive line with defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike out, and was a player the Ravens had to extend. Safe to say, DeCosta got the job done again.
